Visa, Inc. selected Eventstar Structures to design and construct the Everywhere Lounge: a customized temporary structure with a bird’s eye view of Super Bowl City in San Francisco. The lounge is one of the many elements in Visa’s strategy to transform the slogan “Everywhere you want to be” into a physical reality for Super Bowl 50.
Visa is making the most of their hometown advantage this year. The company’s offices are conveniently located at One Market Plaza in San Francisco, CA. The 7th floor terrace of the One Market Building offers breathtaking views of the iconic Bay Bridge and Ferry building.
As part of our mission to make Visa’s vision a reality, we designed, fabricated and installed the Everywhere Lounge on the One Market Building’s 7th Floor terrace. This temporary structure is a corporate branded “building on top of a building.” The lounge offers a comfortable VIP experience with a floor to ceiling view of the Embarcadero, home to the Super Bowl City festivities. It is the perfect space for covering the excitement leading up to and surrounding Super Bowl 50.
For the home viewing audience, Visa will be everywhere as part of the backdrop of the coverage of Super Bowl 50. The Everywhere Lounge is the perfect vantage point. It is fully equipped to accommodate the needs of the press for high visibility broadcasts, including this Entertainment Tonight segment with Cassidy Gifford reflecting back on her father, Frank Gifford, who famously was a broadcaster for Super Bowl One.
This project had many unique challenges. Eventstar began working directly with Visa in June 2015 to start tailoring their vision for the Everywhere Lounge. Eventstar not only encountered design, engineering and fabrication challenges, but logistical ones as well. With the event space being on the 7th floor patio of the One Market Building, the only option to move the almost one million pounds of equipment was to utilize a 295 ton crane. To maximize spacing and to improve aesthetics, standard ballasting options could not be utilized. Almost a quarter million pounds of steel was positioned to not only provide ballasting support, but also function while being visually hidden from guests’ views. Achieving this, while meeting and exceeding The City of San Francisco’s engineering requirements made the Everywhere Lounge one of Eventstar’s most challenging projects.
As if a modern and up-scale temporary space with breathtaking views was not enough, Visa also tasked Eventstar with creating an experience that would make its patrons exclaim “Oh, wow”. Guests of the Everywhere Lounge were given a unique opportunity to take photos with the historic Ferry Building in the background while jumping on a trampoline which was built into the floor of the structure. The frameless glass system maximized the quality of the photos and gave guests a memorable piece of the Everywhere Lounge to take home with them!
Super Bowl City opened to the residents and visitors in San Francisco on January 30th and will remain open through the game on Sunday, February 7th. You can watch the coverage as it unfolds on TV or by following the hashtag #VisaSB50 on social media.
